About devtoolsniff
devtoolsniff is built and maintained by NJPTEAM — an independent dev team publishing honest tests, tooling, and rules for AI coding IDEs.
We test every AI coding tool on real projects. We publish the results, the methodology, and the raw data (CC-BY licensed). We do not accept sponsored placements — the only monetization is affiliate links (disclosed on every relevant page) and our €15 Stack Pack.
Who we are
NJPTEAM is a small independent team of shipping developers. We use Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, Copilot, and Aider daily on client work and internal projects. We were tired of "AI IDE comparisons" that were either sponsored, ChatGPT-generated, or six months out of date — so we built the site we wanted to read.
What we publish
- Comparisons: 28 head-to-head pages, 208 language-tool pages, updated weekly from a public data file.
- Free tools: a .cursorrules generator, a CLAUDE.md generator, a cost calculator, a "which AI IDE for me" quiz, and a curated prompt library.
- Benchmarks: the AI Hallucination Benchmark — same model, three rule configurations, ten tests. Self-reported with reproducible harness.
- Kits: the €15 Stack Pack — 3 full AI Coding Kits (Next.js, FastAPI, Rust) plus 30 individual rules files and 110 prompts.
Methodology
- Hands-on testing: every tool we recommend has been used on a real coding task by someone on NJPTEAM.
- Same-day, same-task comparisons: we don't compare a tool tested last year against one tested last week. When comparisons are stale, we say so.
- AI disclosure: some article drafts use AI assistance for structure — every fact, ranking, and opinion is human-verified before publish. Marked on every page.
- Affiliate disclosure: every outbound link uses
rel="nofollow sponsored"where affiliate applies. We only link to tools we'd use ourselves. - Open data: pricing data (
tools.json) and benchmark data (benchmarks.json) are downloadable under CC-BY.
Editorial position on AI slop
The internet is getting polluted with AI-generated garbage — thin blog spam, plausible-but-broken code, drop-shipping content farms. NJPTEAM is on the other side of that line. We built devtoolsniff to fight AI slop in production code: anti-hallucination test suites, negative-constraint rules ("never invent a package"), closed-loop verify.sh scripts. Everything we ship exists to make AI-assisted development produce less garbage, not more.

Values (short list)
- Ship honest data, even when it's less flattering.
- Never publish fabricated benchmarks.
- Real usage > specs sheets.
- Long-tail specific > head-term vague.
- Fight AI hallucinations at the tool level, not the article level.
